Heterogeneous Parallel Implementation of Large-Scale Numerical Simulation of Saint-Venant Equations

Large-scale floods are one of the major events that impact national economy and people’s livelihood every year during flood season. Predicting factors evolution is a worldwide problem. We use two-dimensional Saint-Venant equations as an example for high-performance computing in modelling behavior. Discretization with initial boundary conditions finite difference method explicit leapfrog scheme carried out. Afterwards, we employed large-scale heterogeneous parallel solution on “SunRising-1” supercomputer system using MPI, OpenMP, Pthread, OpenCL runtime libraries. On this basis, applied communication/calculation overlapping local memory acceleration to optimize performance. Finally, various performance tests out from different perspectives. have found efficient recommend approach be used solving systems partial differential similar equations.
